Bills QB Josh Allen has one fear about playing the Jaguars: Josh Allen

The last time the Buffalo Bills played the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021, the game was won – and lost – by Josh Allen.

Allen, the Bills quarterback, threw a pass intended for running back Devin Singletary that was picked off by Allen, the Jaguars linebacker, and ultimately set up Jacksonville’s game-winning field goal.

As they head into a rematch nearly two years later, the 27-year-old QB admitted he’s not looking forward to playing against the 26-year-old linebacker because of what happened last time.

“He scares me,” Allen told reporters on Wednesday. “He got me the last time we played. He’s coming off a really good week too. He’s a baller. He’s still kind of considered a young guy in this league but he’s playing really good football right now and their defensive group right now is playing at a high level. They work together very well. So we’re going to have our hands full.”

In their last meeting – a 9-6 Jaguars win – Allen, the Pro Bowl linebacker, totaled eight tackles, five pressures, four hurries, two tackles for loss, a pass break up, a sack, a fumble recovery and an interception. He heads into Week 5's game against the Bills tied for the NFL lead with six sacks and is coming off a three-sack performance in a 23-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Allen, the All-Pro QB, threw two interceptions, was sacked four times and recorded his lowest passer rating of the season (62.7) in that game. He heads into the Jacksonville game coming off his best performance of 2023, in which he completed 84 percent of his passes for 320 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in a 48-20 rout of the Miami Dolphins.
