A pair of Chicago Blackhawks prospects made Team Slovakia's 2024 World Juniors roster: goalie Adam Gajan and forward Martin Misiak.
Gajan, a Blackhawks' second-round pick (No. 35 overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft, is expected to be Slovakia's starting goalie. The 6-foot-2 netminder is enjoying a solid second season in the USHL. Gajan has a 14-4-2 record, .911 save percentage, and 3.03 goals-against average in 20 games for the Green Bay Gamblers.
Misiak was also a Blackhawks' second-round pick (No. 55 overall) in the 2023 NHL Draft. He's off to a solid start in his first OHL season with 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 28 games with the Erie Otters. Misiak brings six games of World Juniors experience to the table for a Slovakian team looking to make a surge at the 2024 tournament.
The Blackhawks will have six representatives at the 2024 World Juniors with Adam Gajan and Martin Misiak now cemented on Team Slovakia's roster.
Defenseman Sam Rinzel and forwards Gavin Hayes, Oliver Moore, and Frank Nazar will represent Team USA at the tournament.
The 2024 World Juniors will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden from Dec. 26, 2023 - Jan. 5, 2024.
