Dubas Named to Team Canada Management Staff
Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Dubas, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ president of hockey operations and general manager, has been named Team Canada’s associate general manager for the upcoming world championship tournament in Czechia.

It will be Dubas’ first experience on a management team in an international competition.

Among the other members of Canada’s management group are former NHL winger Rick Nash, St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong, who heads the group, and ex-NHLer Ryan Getzlaf.

In a statement released by Team Canada, Nash said that, “Kyle brings a wealth of professional experience and we know he will be an invaluable member of our staff that will greatly benefit our team. As we continue preparations and begin selecting our coaching staff, support staff and roster, I know Kyle and our selection committee will play an integral role in ensuring we assemble a team that gives us the best chance to defend gold in Czechia.”

Penguins center Sidney Crosby is considering whether to play for Canada in that tournament.
