Mario Gila is working hard in training to try and be fit for Lazio’s upcoming Serie A clash with Scudetto champions Inter.

The 23-year-old Spanish centre back, who quickly proved himself a useful part of Igor Tudor’s new three-man defence in the Italian capital, has been forced to miss the last three league games against Hellas Verona, Monza and Empoli due to an adductor injury.

Lazio are still in the thick of the fight for European qualification and will be desperate to secure all three points in their coming clash with Inter, who have already started building towards next season after securing the league title.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Gila has been training in bursts with Lazio as he works to recover from his muscle injury, working with the squad on Tuesday before taking a rest day on Wednesday. He is pushing to be fit for the clash with Inter, keen to help out his teammates.

He is in the final stages of his recovery from the adductor issue and is hoping to be called up by Tudor for Sunday’s clash with the Nerazzurri.
